BACKGROUND
Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes are the #1 export of the Cayman Islands. Tortuga products are sold across airports, travel retail markets, specialty food departments and gourmet stores throughout the Caribbean and North America, in onboard gift shops of nearly 100 cruise ships and shipped to 70 countries around the world
BRIEF
Tortuga Rum Cakes had to move out of Magento 1.0 due to Adobe announcing end of support for the version and was looking for options that involved less development support
GOALS
- Ability for marketing team to make edits to the website without development support
- A managed platform that didn’t require infrastructure maintenance
CHALLENGE
Tortuga wanted to avoid infrastructure maintenance while still maintaining the advanced integrations and reporting that Magento provided




PLATFORM SELECTION
Considering all the needs of Tortuga, we settled on BigCommerce as the closest platform knowing some custom plugins will be required to support advanced integrations and reporting
ADVANCED INTEGRATION AND REPORTING
Tortuga chose to use atmosol’s proprietary cross-platform framework to easily build integrations with BigCommerce to support their reporting and integration needs
